The Perceptron (November 1958 – 1960)


In November 1958 Frank Rosenblatt invented the Perceptron, or Mark I, at Cornell University. Completed in 1960, this was the first computer that could learn new skills by trial and error, using a type of neural network that simulated human thought processes.
