In 1980 Mead Data Central of Miamisburg, Ohio, introduced the NEXIS service, providing online texts of various print publications. Initially it provided The Washington Post, Newsweek, The Economist, U.S. News & World Report, Dun's Review, and the Reuters and Associated Press news wires.
