In November 1951 the Ferranti Mark 1 performed Baa Baa Black Sheep and a truncated version of In the Mood at the University of Manchester. The program for Baa Baa Black Sheep was written by Christopher Strachey. Because the music played on the CSIRAC in Sydney, Australia a few months earlier was not recorded,h te recording on acetate disc of these brief performances for a small audience of technicians, may be the oldest known recordings of computer-generated music.
