According to Asa Brigg’s The History of British Broadcasting in the United Kingdom, Vol. 4, p. 524, newspaper circulation in Britain as a print on paper distribution medium for news reached its peak in 1950 and 1954. Thereafter more news was distributed over radio and television than through print.
