The press release dated June 7, 1946 announcing the high altitude scientific research program using V-2 rockets seized from Germany, at the end of World War II described the equipment that scientists intended to mount in the nose cone of the rockets and the experiments that they intended to conduct. At the time there was no reference to photography, probably because the method of photographing with movie cameras mounted in the hose cone had not been worked out.
