UNESCO Launches The Memory of the World

In 1992 UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, launched the Memory of the World program, an international initiative to guard against collective amnesia, by promoting preservation and dissemination of valuable archive holdings and library collections worldwide.
