In 1564 Ivan Fedorov (Fyodorov) and Petr Mstislavets issued at Moscow the Apostol (Acts and Epistles of the Apostles). This was the first dated book printed in Russia. Prior to this several anonymous and undated books were published in Moscow.
In 1565 Fedorov and Mstislavets issued the Chasovnik, a Book of Hours. This was the earliest Greek Orthodox liturgical work printed in Russia. In 1565 the two printers issued a second Book of Hours. Then they left Moscow to apply their skills in the Grand Ducy of Lithuania: in in Zabłudów, Lvov, Vilna and Ostrog.
