In 1980 3M Corporation of Maplewood, MN introduced the Post-it Note invented by chemists Spencer Silver and Arthur Fry. Dr. Silver invented the the low-tack, reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive in 1968, and in 1974 Arthur Fry figured out a use for it. Remarkably it took 3M six more years before the product was brought to market.
