Arthur Korn Invents the Bildtelegraph, an Early Method of Facsimile Transmission

From 1901 to 1907 electrical engineer Arthur Korn of Munich invented an effective system of telephotography, or fax, called the Bildtelegraph.

Bildtelegraph became "widespread in continental Europe especially since a widely noticed transmission of a wanted-person photograph from Paris to London in 1908, used until the wider distribution of the radiofax.
